A Walking Tour
Our leisurely tour begins with a scenic drive to the Old Town of Corfu, the island’s capital. Here, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town. With its Venetian forts and neo-classical housing, the old town was inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage Listas a fortified Mediterranean port town of high integrity and authenticity. The heart of the town, built on the side of a hill, contains a labyrinth of small alleyways criss-crossing larger, bustling streets abound with typical old craftsmen’s workshops.
Discover all the interesting sites like Saint Spyridon Church, protector of the island, the interesting municipality and the charming narrow alleyways of the Old Venetian Town.
Meseums and Espianada Square
After the walking tour, guests will visit the Paper Money Museum. The museum is unique since there are only three exisisting in Europe in which the visitor can delve into the world and history of notes. It has a priceless collection of notes. Located in St. Spyridon Square, next to Ionian Bank.
Visit the famous Esplanade – one of the largest squares in Europe – and the elegant Liston which access in the past was only allowed to the aristocracy of Corfu, written down in the “Libro d’Oro”. Here, you will board your horse drawn carriage to take you for a leisurely ride through the Old Town of Corfu. The historic Old Town of Corfu, lying between two Byzantine-era citadels, with its high tenements, narrow serpentine kandounia (streets) and charming little piazzas crammed with cafés and pastry shops, will captivate you with the beauty and charm of its Venetian-style architecture, more reminiscent of Venice than of a typical Greek town.
Your carriage will travel along the coastal road of the picturesque Bay of Garitsa, the small marina, and the 14th century Old Venetian Fortress – now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Upon completion of the tour, guests will enjoy champagne cocktail with canapés
at a lovely waterfront lounge restaurant with wonderful views of the sea.
